Golden Compass 2014 - 25th Anniversary Gala Honoring Captain Richard Phillips Seafarers' House pulls out all stops for our 25th Anniversary at the 2014 Golden Compass. This special year's Golden Compass Honoree is a bona fide working seafarer and hero who not only saved the lives of his crew, saved his cargo and his ship but went on to write a best selling book and have his tale told in a Golden Globe nominated movie with Tom Hanks in the starring role! We are thrilled to welcome Captain Richard Phillips as our 2014 Golden Compass Honoree!
The International Golden Compass is an elegant formal gala held, for the second year, at the exquisite Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Captain Phillips shares the spotlight with many of the people who have helped Seafarers' House become one of the best such centers in the world and the first American Center to be so recognized by the International Committee on Seafarersí Welfare as The 2012 International Seafarersí Center of the Year.
For this special anniversary year, we are offering one signature "Captain's Gold Table" in the best location, with all benefits of Gold Sponsorship plus Captain Phillips & his guest seated right next to the table's sponsor! Everyone at this table is invited to attend the private "Meet & Greet" and receives a signed book.
Gold Sponsor Hosts will also receive a signed book and time with special guest Captain Phillips at a private "Meet & Greet" during Cocktails. Increased benefits such as social media exposures, logos & listings in print, on the big screen, on BidPal, Facebook and Twitter- many with links directly to your website.
Silver and Bronze Sponsors enjoy best seating along with Gold and all sponsors receive full page ads and selected listings.
The evening begins at 6:00 pm with a cocktail reception and glamorous silent auction offering fine wines, works of art, cruises, trips, fashion and jewelry.
The doors to the ballroom open with a surprise at 8pm where an expected 400+ guests will dine, dance, cheer and enjoy a retrospective of Seafarers' House, and an always exciting live auction. Of course, Captain Phillips' remarks and the Golden Compass presentation will be the highlight of the evening along with entertainment and dancing the night away!
